Let’s be realistic, everyone who decides to take this step and talks him/herself into it, regardless of where and with whom they train, has a somewhat masochistic element within themselves. In that regard, I have always advocated that a person should find something that suits them the most and stick to it. On the other hand, trainers, following pure logic, often have a mild (and for some, a more pronounced) sadistic trait.
Why am I saying this and how is it relevant, especially in the context of “persuading” anyone to join us? First and foremost, because that pain, a pain that is not a prerequisite but is a very common side effect of a workout well done, is necessary. It’s a pain that goes beyond the physical and touches the psychological, and, some will readily attest, occasionally even the spiritual. You are alone with your thoughts, doing those last few repetitions of an exercise or going through those last few seconds of a specific hold, and there’s no one to help you. But that pain, if everything else like exercise form and controlled movement is satisfied, is good a pain, a pain that you must expect, and if you want to grow and develop, both physically and mentally, you simply have to be prepared for it and embrace it down the line!
Someone will see the photos in the attachment and find it amusing. Someone else will give up the very thought of contacting us because they notice people suffering. But what I see, where the role of a trainer as someone who encourages, inspires, and motivates is the most prominent, are people who for once decided to step out of their comfort zone into the light of progress, growth, and development, both physically and mentally. The trainer is there to create a program for you, guide you through it, pay attention to details such as the execution of exercises, review and adjust the nutrition program as needed, be your teacher, support, and if necessary, a psychologist, a shoulder to cry on, and a friend. But what drives you and what will lead you (or won’t) to success you desire must come from within, from yourself. That’s the only way, and also the long-term guarantee that you will achieve something worthwile, not because of anyone else but because of yourself. And when you overcome that obstacle, start to be honest with yourself about what has been holding you back so far and move towards what you want, you’ve already won. Everything else will fall into place, and if you’ve had enough of doubts, indecision, second-guessing, and lack of motivation, then someone knowledgeable like the people from our team can step into the story, giving their all to help you reach your goals if you’re willing to work patiently, persistently, and hard. Ultimately, you’ll get there. At SpartanFit, we don’t “sell” magic pills, powders, or quick “get-flat-abs-in-a-month” solutions; we “sell” a lifestyle, something that will stick with you for the rest of your life if you allow it to.
