Discipline can’t be taught. You either have it or you don’t. Discipline doesn’t compromise. You can’t switch it on one week and off the next. Discipline doesn’t care about your emotions. It’s doing the right thing, whether you feel like it or not, whether it’s convenient enough for you or it’s not. We all know what the right thing to do is, it’s our discipline that determines whether we execute, follow it through and do something about it or not. Yes, it’s hard, it’s tiresome, maybe even boring. But guess what. Nobody said it would be easy. If it was everyone would have it. Discipline is what separates the average from the great. If you want to be great, you have to be disciplined, there’s no way around it. Every great achievement started with a decision to try. After that, your discipline determines whether you give up or go on, failure after failure until you reach your goal. And then you start all over. There’s no finish line so you better embrace the process and enjoy the game. And yeah, don’t fear failure. Welcome it, embrace it, learn from it and then move on. Lessons you learn from failure are much more important than the ones you learn from success. Discipline is either black or white, and you alone must choose on which side of the spectrum you’d rather be.
