After briefly discussing breakfast and lunch combinations in recent weeks, it remains to wrap the story up with couple of thoughts on the last meal of the day.

Dinner should, in most cases, be the ‘easiest’ meal of the day. Although it is not necessary to randomly stop eating after 6 or 8 p.m. since the body does not register calories differently depending on the time of the day, you should still refrain from heavy meals and eating too close (90-120 minutes) to bedtime.

My go-to options in this regard are primarily salads and eggs in various ways. As with the pea soup, a salad is something so simple yet so nutritionally rich, light, and diverse. Whether it’s a variation with turkey and baked polenta, eggs, chicken, feta, tuna, and/or legumes, your options are truly endless, and you can’t really go wrong with any of them, except perhaps with the excessive use of low-quality oils, dressings, or calorie-dense foods if your goal is to lose weight. Again, this is not the only thing I eat or what you should eat, but it certainly helps to have a few options that you always go back to because you enjoy them and because we all sometimes lack inspiration, motivation, and time to try new things, especially during this portion of the day when most of us just want to relax, unwind, and spend some quality time by ourselves or with our families.
